Slow Cooker Sundays

The Cursing Gourmet Tip of the Day:

Slow Cooker Sunday.

So I have this theory for chicks who don’t like sports, but their man is obsessed.

(A) Choose to convincingly pretend to be interested in ONE of his sports.
(B) Choose football to be that sport.

Personally, I’m a die hard Rangers fan. Hockey is where it’s at for me… I like hockey more than baseball, football and basketball combined.

But from a strictly cooking-hater, sports-hater perspective, I have to recommend football.

Here’s the deal, sports-illiterate females:

Football – 17 regular season games

Hockey/Basketball – 82 regular season games

Baseball – 162-m-effin-games.

And soccer? I don’t think it ever stops, honestly.

Best part of football? Majority of it takes place on Sundays. Which means two things:

(1) It’s an awesome excuse to sit on your arse, pig out, drink beer, and watch football every Sunday in the fall (and not feel guilty about being lazy!) Hey, if ya can’t beat ’em, join ’em!

(2) It’s an awesome excuse to bust out your slow cooker! Get a big ass stew, soup or chili in there early in the day, and a couple easy snacks, and you’re done.

Football is also a great excuse to have people over or get yourself invited to someone’s house. You might even be able to avoid cooking altogether if you play your cards right. Dudes love grilling, and Football Sundays are perfect days for that kind of dude food.

So bring over some beers and some meat and let the dudes cook it up!
